Virtual Tour of Solomon's Temple

Still under construction, but mostly complete... Keep checking in for updates!

The dimensions, details, and design of Solomon's temple are found in multiple passages of Scripture, especially 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Chronicles, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. The diagrams and models below have been made possible by the thorough research and analysis presented by L. Leroy Neff in his paper God's Temple in Prophecy, first published by Ambassador College in 1961.

It must be noted that these pictures can scarcely do justice to the magnificence of Solomon's temple, as the interior was adorned with a multitude of fine carvings and gemstones, none of which we have attempted to reproduce. Yet even Solomon's temple, in all its glory, pales in comparison to the heavenly!

Note the altar of burnt offering, the ten lavers on their carts, the Bronze Sea, and the two pillars before the temple. The Bronze Sea was for the priests to wash their hands and feet, and the ten lavers to wash the sacrifices.

There were 10 lampstands and 10 tables of showbread, 5 on each side. The altar of incense is before the veil to the Holy of Holies.
Between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies was a veil, three chains, and folding doors. The doors were probably left open during the daylight hours, like the doors at the entrance to the Holy Place.

There were three stories of wall chambers, 33 per story, around the back and both sides of the temple. One ascended from one story to the next by climbing a spiraling staircase.
